191: /jmh-love-your-nurse

Recognize great nurses on your phone

Jackson Memorial Hospital is by all accounts a massive place.  In the hustle and bustle of a complex with almost 2,000 beds it can be easy to forget the simple things like saying thank you.

That’s why the patients of JMH have turned to the local web and created an “app” of sorts to thank their nurses.  If you are within 2 miles of the hospital and go to localweb.is/jmh-love-your-nurse you will see all sorts of patients leaving thank you notes and taking pictures with their nurses.  In fact, if you go to localweb.is which is an index of popular and trending URLs in the area, then /jmh-love-your-nurse is always at the top.

Being a nurse is stressful but one thing that makes it more bearable at JMH is those quick moments when a nurse can check their phone and instead of dealing with email or browsing Buzzfeed, they can check /jmh-love-your-nurse and know that they are really doing a good job.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
