Choose your own adventure, or        join someone else’s

The role playing game Dungeons & Dragons has been around for decades.  Book series’ like R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps are wildly popular. And pretty much any kid has played some form of choose your own adventure (CYOA), pretending to be in a world filled with anything from dinosaurs to hip hop moguls to astronauts.

On a hyperlocal level this sometimes plays out as scavenger hunts, but what about truly exciting, rapidly moving adventures…ones that take place in real life and have a defined narrative?  That’s how people are using localweb.is/cyoa, and because what you see on localweb.is depends on where you are, adventures can happen anytime with as many people as want to play.

A real-time rafting race down the river complete with secret caves, rock climbing, and a giant tug of war battle at the end? /cyoa can be used to list the “options” at the end of each mini-adventure, and it’s easy to quickly setup new ones… “to ascend Abilon Peak, visit localweb.is/abilon, to raft down to the next boat exit view localweb.is/chaffe-tunnel” etc.

That’s the power of  imagination, expressed through the local web.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
