0180:  /bookswap

Let libraries focus on books instead of web / software development

If you’ve ever lived in a small town or you’re in a big city but regularly visit the library, then you’ve been to a book swap. Every few years the library has to make room for new books, magazines, videos and other content.

And that’s where localweb.is/bookswap comes in handy.  In addition to sending a notice to the local newspapers and nearby community organizations, librarians can post info right to /bookswap, and anyone nearby using the local web will see it.

Book sales so successful that you’re closing early?  Let patrons know by easily posting a message.  Giving away some free books at the end of the weekend? You won’t have to worry about having to re-box them, that’s for sure. And with libraries moving towards more digital collections, you can even use /bookswap to post titles that you’re getting rid of soon and are willing to transfer the license or copy / title to.  Not to mention giving local patrons a sneak preview of what’s new in the next few weeks at the library.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
