0178:  /livestreaming

Easily find local livestreaming

Apps like Persicope and Meerkat are awesome at bringing the view from your phone to a large or small audience.  You can find a live stream someone posted on Twitter, or just browse through the lists on the app. But what happens when you just want to see a live stream from what’s around you?

You could wait for the app to implement that feature, or you can just check localweb.is/livestreaming where people are posting links to live streaming broadcasts from various apps.  It becomes a cross-app discovery feature.

Frequently, getting views on your live stream requires you to have an audience already, which works for some people, but if you are a relative ‘nobody’ and you are just live streaming the local farmers market, what you really want is to connect to other people nearby. With /livestreaming, people are using the local web to expand the functionality of their favorite apps.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
