Keeping the kitchen well stocked where the need is greatest
The Grant Avenue Soup Kitchen in Denver serves 1,000 people a hot meal every Monday, rain, shine or holiday. They’ve been doing so for 22 years and are a 100% volunteer run nondenominational program.
No matter what your circumstance is, if you come through the door hungry they will feed you. And for many people, it’s more than food. It’s community, a safe haven, a consistency that inspires and even helps some get off of the streets and into better living situations.
The kitchen in constantly in need of food and equipment, and patrons need things like winter clothing when it gets cold, toiletries and other daily items. /GrantKitchen-needs is a quick way to see what need is greatest at a given moment so you can drop by the store and drop off your contribution or let other folks nearby know what to bring.
