A constantly updated list of               open mics in your city

Open mic night is a tradition in cities big and small across the world. Simply put your name on a list, wait for your 15 minute slot, and  grab your guitar, list of jokes or poetry.

As technology rapidly advances, these events have ironically become harder to find.  Many coffee shops and concert venues are too strapped for time and money to promote open mics, which is unfortunate because they serve as a low key place for new musicians  to learn the  craft.  /openmic is a way to return that power back to musicians and make it easy for local venues to support them.

Simply post a note in with details on an upcoming open mic night, and since it’s local anyone in the area can chime in to say they’ll be attending, ask questions, even use the comment thread as a sign up. It’s one of the most powerful ways to use the local web — finding opportunities locally that interest you — and it’s the one place you can go to find out about open mics in your neighborhood or the next one over.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
