0089: /marriage-equality

Change that comes from the         people closest to you

Marriage is an important ceremony in cultures across the world. Regardless of skin color, gender, and sexual orientation, it’s   something people care about, celebrate and fight for.

Groups like GetEQUAL, the Human Rights Campaign and NOH8 help to show visible signs of progress, but the toughest work is often done on a local level.  Gay and lesbian individuals talk to their parents about why marriage matters to them, business owners talk to local government officials, and young people hear stories that help them understand why the issue matters.  /marriage-equality is a way to create conversation and understanding with people around you. Regardless of where people stand politically it helps to put a human face to issues of equality.  That starts with the people you’re closest to.

We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
