Rides outside the major metropolis
If you live in San Francisco, New York or Chicago, you’ve probably got access to cabs or to services like Uber and Lyft. But if you live in a town of 25,000, there isn’t “an app for that” and it probably won’t be coming anytime soon because there aren’t millions to be made.
/need-a-cab is an example of how the answer is often nearby. Simply post a ride request and if there’s a cab nearby they can reply with their rate and how long it’ll take to get to you. Since you live in a town of 25,000, if Max with Yellow Cab isn’t available someone else may be able to pull a quick favor and get you to the airport across town just as quickly. And /need-a-cab can be used anywhere in the world to harness the power of the crowd without waiting for a startup or tech company to arrive and deem the problem worth solving.
