Community bulletin board
As people migrate online they replace some of their offline habits with digital tools, and too often the results don’t quite match. The bulletin board, for example, has been replaced by Facebook Groups. But that doesn’t do a good job of accounting for basic aspects of humanity – that we change our interests, and shift and move, sometimes to other places entirely.
A Localweb.is URL like /港岛东体育馆 – Island East Sports Centre located in Hong Kong – is an example of how Localweb.is will replace inefficient information transfer at the local level. It doesn’t make sense to have to add a new person or notify everyone in a group when the racquetball court open hours change. Instead, /港岛东体育馆 will enable patrons of Island East to check when something’s changed that’s relevant to them. New people can cycle in and out with no need for a group moderator to approve them or for updates.
We are building the local web and sharing a new way to use it each day.
